Kodiaks Will Play For Second Straight Ralph Pilz Trophy

It will be the Creighton Kodiaks against the Churchill Chargers out of Laronge for the Ralph Pilz trophy this Saturday.

The game will take place at Max Clunie Field  in Price Albert 4 PM MB time and broadcast on 102.9 CFAR and flinflononline.com to determine the champions of the Northern Saskatchewan 6 man Football league.

The Kodiaks are the defending champs after defeating Pinehouse in the final last year.

Creighton will enter the game 4-0 this season while Churchill is 2-2.

This will be the second meeting of the season with the Kodiaks pulling out a 46-27 win at the Creighton field on October the 1st. The Kodiaks actually trailed at the half for the first time in their history and came out in the second half and reeled off 31 straight points to take the game.

Head Coach Ryan Karakochuk says his team is looking forward to the opportunity.

"It is a big weekend ahead of us as we play for the Northern Championship in Prince Albert. What it means is if we win we get to host our first ever provincial game and we get to win the North. That is very important to us to get the Ralph Pilz Trophy for the second straight year and that is what we really want. To get a home provincial game is a nice bonus. We know what is ahead of us but we just want to focus on this game.

Don't forget to catch all the action on 102.9 CFAR this Saturday for our first ever broadcast of high school football.
