The Norman Northstars split a pair of games with the Southwest Cougars this past weekend in Thompson.

After dropping a 5-2 decision on Saturday, Norman responded with a hard fought 2-1 victory yesterday.

Flin Flon's Willy Eikel scored the winner on the power play early in the second period. Mark Steeves was very good in goal stopping 35 out of 36 shots fired in his direction.

Norman improves to 5-33 and only have 5 games remaining in the season including a 3 game road trip which will start this Friday against Eastman.
