One goal is all the Yellowhead Chiefs needed to pull out a 1-0 win over the Norman Wild Saturday night at the Whitney Forum.

Jaylin Adams was able to convert a powerplay goal at 9:12 of the opening period, for the only offense in the game.

Kerrigan Dowhy, the Wild goaltender was the story of the game kicking out 47 out of 48 shots to keep Norman in it. The Wild played the majority of the game in their own end and had a hard time generating a lot of good scoring chances.

This was the Wild's only visit to Flin Flon this year and Head Coach Andre Murphy said they enjoyed the opportunity to play at the Whitney Forum." This was a great opportunity for us to get into Flin Flon, we do have a player Megan Yaworski from here, and her family and the community of Flin Flon do a lot for our team so it was one of the things we wanted to do. We want to get out to more of the other Northern communities as well, including Norway House, Cross Lake, the Pas and Thompson.

The Wild did close out 2014 in the Pas yesterday.
