Kodiaks Move On

The Creighton Kodiaks 6 man football team came back from a 6 point deficit early in the first quarter in their East Semi Final against Senater Myles out of Laronge,  and never looked back in powering to a decisive 55-18 win on Monday afternoon.

The Kodiaks improve to 5-0 on the season and continue to be able to put lots of points on the board. Although today I was impressed with how they played defensively.

This was a historic day with it being the first playoff game in Creighton High School history.

Creighton started to punish Laronge with a lot of big hits in the second quarter, and were able to carry it over to the second half keeping Senater Myles at bay and not allowing them to do much offensively.

Evan Linnick had another big day scoring three touchdowns and adding 5 converts. Chris Reynolds also had a very good afternoon running back a kickoff for a touchdown, and hauling in a couple of touchdown receptions from quarterback Blair Pietsch.

Other touchdowns came from Josh Nowlin and Dean Rainville.

Randy Nowlin and Brennen Van Meer were very good defensively and helped contain the Laronge quarterback and not allow their offense get a lot of yards.

The Kodiaks will face the winner of Sandy Bay and Cumberland House who play tomorrow, and host the East Final next Monday 4 PM at the Creighton field.

Here is Head Coach Ryan Karakochuk and Evan Linnick talking about their big playoff victory:
