Overall I thought things looked pretty good with both the size and speed of all the players in camp. There was also a good contingent of local players including Evan Akkerman looking to make the club for a second straight season. Zach Garrett who played JR.B in Carrot River last year had a great camp and scored a goal yesterday.

Garret did suit up for the Bombers in a few games last season. 15 year old Ethan Stuckless and 17 year old Willy Eikel both had good camps, and both will play for the Norman Northstars this year. Isaac Jackson who was born in Flin Flon, is 16 and followed  up a good spring camp with a solid main camp performance. Jackson skates very well and has a bright future ahead of him.

I like the pairing of the  two veteran defensemen the Bombers brought in with trades, Tanner Lishchynski and Braden Lacoursiere. Mike Reagan mentioned that he thought the chemistry really improved the more these two played together this weekend.

Mike will have some tough decisions to make especially on the back end, where he feel they already have 8 quality guys that can play. Things will get very interesting if they get Curtis Roach and Dustin Perrilat back from WHL camps. Roach is in Prince Albert and Perrilat is in Moose Jaw.

Simon Hofley will be the go to guy between the pipes and was brilliant yesterday stopping all 14 shots fired in his direction. Hofley is down 30lbs from last year and looks like he is ready to carry the bulk of the games in the crease this year.

Who his backup will be is any one's guess? The Bomber were hoping to sign Connor Ingram who looks like he will be playing in Kamloops this year. Connor Slip, Matthew Flath and Matthew Lenz were all in camp and played yesterday.

All 3 of these tenders will have a chance to prove themselves in the 6 exhibition games.

The Bombers will have all their rookies in the lineup tonight when they travel to Nipawin.

Here is Head Coach and GM of the Bombers Mike Reagan, talking about his thoughts on Main camp and the up coming exhibition schedule:
