Hein And Moretz Lead The Way

Brandson Hein continues to give SJHL goaltenders fits, with another solid performance last night at the Duncan McNeill Arena in Wicox.

It only took Hein over 4 minutes into the opening period to net his league leading 12th of the season short handed. It was also his league leading third short handed goal.

Hein would also add a couple of assists for a three point night in helping the Bombers to a much needed 4-1 victory over the Notre Dame Hounds.

Caleb Moretz added his 11th, with rookie Billy Klymchuk picking up his 2nd and Calvon Boots scoring his  first, which was the first goal scored by a Bomber d-man this year.

Specialty teams were big for Flin Flon who added a couple of powerplay goals to go along with their short handed goal. Pierce Diamond picked up his 6th win of the season, stopping 20 out of 21 shots.

Curtis Wiebe was the only Hound to score and Andrew Henderson took the loss stopping 21 out of 25 shots.

The Bombers now have 3 out of a possible 4 points on the road trip and are sitting at : 6-4-0-2, tied with Nipawin for top spot in the Sherwood Division with 14 points. Nipawin has three games in hand.

Flin Flon will enjoy a day off today before resuming the road trip in Weyburn tomorrow. 102.9 CFAR and flinflononline.com will have the call with Steve Wilson and the Great North GM Coach's Show set to kick things off at 8:15 MB time.
