At their meeting Tuesday night Flin Flon City Council reported there will be no city spring clean up this spring similar to last year. Council cancelled their pick up of items left out by residents as a cost cutting measure last year and will do the same this year. Because of that they passed a resolution to wave the tipping fees at the landfill for the period of May 16th to June 9th.
Council also discussed a motion to take applications from residents who own vacant lots for a grant to offset the cost of the special services levy to be placed on properties to cover police and fire services. Councilors Martin and McKee objected noting some people store vehicles and sheds on these lots that still require fire protection. The motion was tabled for further discussion.
