Manitoba Education Minister James Allum has announced an overall increase of two percent in funding for public schools for the next school year.  Flin Flon School Superintendent Blaine Veitch says this Division was fortunate to be one of the Divisions to actually receive an increase as about half of the Divisions didn’t. He says the funding announcement is a little bit different this year because there was some changing of actual funding from the 2013-14 school year as compared to what was estimated so it’s a little more difficult to compare apples to apples so they did get an increase but the exact amount is a little more complicated to provide.

Veitch says the School Board’s finance committee will work to produce a good budget for next year that will be presented at a public meeting on February 26th.
