Hudbay Minerals has announced the closing of its previously announced equity offering of just under 21 million common shares of the company at a price of $8.25 per share, which includes the exercise in full of the over allotment option granted to the underwriters for gross proceeds of just under 173 million dollars.

The company intends to use the net proceeds of the offering for general corporate purposes, including providing them the flexibility to pursue opportunities to advance its growth strategy.
