A mountain is being climbed to support a the Flin Flon woman shelter

Two former northern Manitoba sisters have started their climb of Mount Kilimanjaro to support Flin Flon’s Women’s Safe Haven.  53 year old Teresa Lynne Gibson and 52 year old Beverley Watson who now live in Winnipeg are supporting the shelter run by their younger sister Colleen Arnold.  Arnold says they started on Saturday and they did text on the first day that it was a lot harder than they anticipated and then they lost contact with them.  She says they should be hitting the summit on Thursday morning for them which she thinks would be around 11 or midnight our time Wednesday night.

Arnold also climbed Mount Kilimanjaro two years ago.

Donations can be dropped off at the Women’s Resource Center at 60 Hapnot Street or online at www.womensresource.ca. They have raised about 26 hundred dollars so far.
