Some people are still drinking and driving

The second week of the RCMP holiday check stop program has resulted in several charges being laid.  During last week 1795 vehicles were checked across Manitoba during 80 check stops.  14 people were charged with impaired driving or driving over .08 with the average blood alcohol reading .176 or more than twice the legal limit and the highest reading .240 or three times the legal limit. Two people were charged with refusal and there were 6 twenty-four hour alcohol related road side suspensions.

             

As well multiple drug seizures were reported by several detachments and 200 other traffic related highway traffic act charges were laid.
