After announcing earlier this year plans to upgrade number ten highway from Bakers Narrows to Flin Flon starting next spring the Manitoba government has now announced plans for upgrades on the highway from Swan River to Riding Mountain National Park.
The 56 million dollar highway upgrade includes significant resurfacing and repaving to new national highway standards as well as a new bridge at Drifting River north of Ashville to make the highway safer and ease congestion from the Park north to Swan River.
The five year project will see 39.2 million dollars spent in the Swan River area and 16.4 million in the Dauphin area. These upgrades are in addition to 21 million dollars in recently completed and ongoing upgrades on that stretch of highway.
