Some communities in our area will benefit from recreation grants

The Manitoba Government has announced families in remote northern communities will benefit from new and upgraded recreational and community facilities with financial help from the province’s Community Places Program North.

             

In our area Cranberry Portage will receive 55 thousand dollars for safety improvements to the community beach, the town of Snow Lake almost 30 thousand for upgrades to the Snow Lake Center on Family Violence and just over 28 thousand for upgrades to the Mining Museum, the Town of The Pas almost 7 thousand dollars for upgrades to Zimmer Park and Cormorant Lake 40 thousand to upgrade the school gym.

             

Under the Community Places Program North organizations in northern remote communities can apply for one hundred percent of their project costs up to a maximum of 75 thousand dollars.
