You are invited to light a candle Friday

The Women’s Resource Center is holding its annual candle light vigil Friday evening to mark the National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women.  The Center’s Colleen Arnold asks everyone to take part. She explains this candle vigil is in memory of the Montreal massacre where 14 young women lost their lives to gender violence, so they say a few words at 5:15 on Main Street and then have a moment of silence in remembrance of these 14 young women and they hope that Main Street will be lit up all the way down to the Bargain Store.

If you plan to take part and would like a candle call the Women’s Resource Center at 204-681-3105 or pick one up on Main Street Friday evening.
