The Western Canada Lottery Corporation is advising lottery players of a scam taking place.  They warn if you’ve received an email, letter or phone call that claims to be from the Western Canada Lottery Corporation or any other organization and it states your name or email address was selected and you’ve won a lottery prize and asks you to pay to receive your prize disregard it.

They say there are several scams going on that attempt to use the names of legitimate organizations and indicate you can claim your prize by paying a tax or service charge.  They advise the lottery corporation will never ask you to pay money to claim a legitimate prize.
