Pledges will support breast cancer research

Preparations are underway for a Breast Cancer Pledge Ride. Organizer Paulette Wotton says it results from her involvement in a committee in Winnipeg where they’ve held their 12th annual ride and they have raised over 500 thousand dollars towards the research and technical support in Manitoba alone for breast cancer. She said she decided to have a run from northern Manitoba because Cancer Care Manitoba is inclusive of all rural areas, Flin Flon included and all of the north.

The ride starts on Saturday, August 3rd at the Gateway on to Gyles Park finishing at the second annual Flonstock music festival. Wotton says the ride can include any motorcycle and hopefully some classic cars with pledge forms available at VA Services or by calling her at 204-271-2928 or 687-7026 or on facebook at Breast Cancer Pledge Ride North.
