Hapnot class of 2013 celebrated the start of a new age

Diplomas were presented to 61 graduates of Hapnot Collegiate last night along with numerous bursaries and scholarships valued around 50 thousand dollars.

             

The largest award the Hudbay W.A. Green bursary for 35 hundred dollars a year for up to four years was presented to Beverly Hiebert who also received the Governor General Bronze Medal for highest academic standing with a 99.6 percent average.  The Sparling Trophy for the student who contributes the most to school life while still maintaining a good academic standing was presented to Nicole Breedon.

             

Valedictorian Luke Holubec reflected on the experience of high school leaving with a sense of pride uncertain what the future has to offer but prepared for passage into a new age.

             

Guest speaker former Principal Bill Pauley reflected on his 31 years in education advising the grads not to settle for just getting by but find something that will make you happy and make a difference in things that matter.
