The annual Bust the Winter Blues Festival runs through this weekend. The committee’s Channa Senyk says Saturday starts off with a pancake breakfast from 9 to 11 at the Friendship Center and there is a craft show at the Elks Hall from 10 to 4. At the Rotary Wheel they have their family fun from 1 to 3 with free hot dogs, marshmallow roast, hot chocolate and their famous baking contest with entries dropped off at 1 and judging at 2. Senyk adds they have skating on the pond and the horse rides have come back from Hudson Bay. She notes at 1:30 there are cultural fun games and Senior’s cards are happening at the Seniors Center at 2 o’clock.
Saturday wraps up with fireworks at the Creighton Soccer Field at 6:30 and the Mardi Gras Family Fun Night at 7 in the Creighton Community Hall. Sunday includes a fishing derby on Phantom Lake with registration at 11:30 and the Border Explorers Frozen Aces Snowmobile Derby with registration starting at 11 at the Creighton Tourism Office.
