City Council Will Again Take Part in A Special Day of Remembrance.

At their meeting last night Flin Flon City Council was invited by the United Steelworkers Local 7106 to take part in their annual National Day of Mourning Ceremony on Sunday April 28th at 7:30 at the Steelworkers Monument beside the Victoria Inn. It honors those who have been killed or injured while at work.  Mayor Cal Huntley said Council will be represented at the ceremony.

             

Councilor Colleen Arnold reported on the success of the Northern Urban Reserves, Municipalities and Economic Development conference she recently attended in Thompson.  She said it looked at the benefit of partnerships with Indigenous communities and urban reserves as well as Indigenomics and the Indigenous contribution to our northern economy,

             

Councilor Colleen McKee reminded artists Friday is the deadline to enter artwork for the Main Artery Main Street Art Gallery by emailing flinflonmainstreetgallery@gmail.com.

             

And Council accepted the Fire Chiefs report for March indicating four incidents, three involving traffic and a false alarm.
