Last night Council released their Strategic Plan for 2019-22. Mayor Cal Huntley said we are the first community to develop such a plan in direct consultation with the community.

Each of the pillars outlined in the plan represents a broad area of importance to the future of the community and has attached key action items with financial and allocated resources to enable the success of the plan.  The pillars include health and wellbeing, infrastructure and smarter technologies, economic development, effective governance, comprehensive seniors programs, youth engagement and retention, beautification, workforce management, recreation and leisure and tourism.

Mayor Huntley noted many of the initiatives are already being worked on and the plan will give further guidance.  He says each year the plan will be reviewed and adjustments made as needed.

  Copies of the plan can be found at City Hall and will soon be on their website.  A new website is in the development stages that will allow for community feedback.
