Our Member of Parliament is Asking the Federal Government to Take Action on First Nations Housing.

In Question Period last week M. P. Niki Ashton told the Prime Minister about her visit to a mom in Red Sucker Lake. She explains as she was leaving Rhonda told her how happy she was it was summer time because she could stay in her house, a house that was covered partially by tarps and without a bathroom in Canada in 2018.  She added her question to the Prime Minister is why is his government failing First Nations people like Rhonda and so many First Nations women across this country by failing to act on the housing crisis that exists in Canada today.

Prime Minister Trudeau responded they have moved forward to correcting the housing situation in their first years in government with 8.6 billion dollars towards Indigenous communities particularly in housing and they recognize there are still significant needs moving forward with a 40 billion dollars national housing strategy.
