Moms and their babies are invited to join the World Breastfeeding Challenge being held Saturday morning to support moms and promote breastfeeding. The Northern Health Region’s Ruth Unrau says it’s a fun event in response to a challenge for which geographic area has the most breastfeeding babies as a percent of the birth rate. She explains it’s basically like a celebration of breastfeeding and it’s to demonstrate promotion, protection and support for breast feeding women and their families and it’s a chance for peer support done in a fun social way.
The breastfeeding challenge takes place at the Flin Flon Primary Health Care Center Saturday morning at 11 with the doors open at 10:45. Unrau adds there’s no cost and there will be snacks, door prizes and fun social time for everyone.
