Flin Flon Mayor Cal Huntley was re-elected by acclamation when he was the only candidate to file nomination papers Tuesday.  He says he wants to keep moving forward with Council. He says it’s a tough environment right now but they’re trying to take a positive tack adding they’ve built a lot of good relationships with our neighboring communities as well as with the province that start to show some signs of fruition and he likes the road they’re travelling down right now and he just wants to continue with that.  He notes he is very pleased that the community of Flin Flon, his home, has acclaimed him and he’s very proud of that and humbled as well.

 Huntley says they have set the ground work and diversification is the key by moving from a mining community to a service community with mining still a big part of that but we want to be less dependent on where that mine is.
