It Was a Successful Year for the Arts in Flin Flon.

The Fin Flon Arts Council held their annual meeting last night.  President Sheri Pearson reported it has been a very busy year with lots of wonderful performances, opportunities and new talents emerging which is a trend that is exciting to watch as they seem to continually build on past performance seasons..

Highlights were reported from their eleven standing committees and the 12 organizations that fall under their umbrella.

Pearson mentioned several events for the upcoming season including continuing to evaluate the feasibility of the North Central Canada Center for the Arts and Environment.  In upcoming performances she mentioned Ham Sandwich’s Treasure Island, Ballet Jorgen and the Community Choirs major performance of Mamma Mia adding the Marketing Committee is dedicated to creating a value added theme to all their performances which could include cabaret style performances with a bar or raffle tickets with themed gift baskets and prizes.

The Arts Council included in their constitution their mission statement to support art in the north and northern artists.
