The Manitoba Electoral Boundaries Commission is encouraging you to attend a hearing on the proposed electoral division boundaries. One proposed change sees Flin Flon and The Pas constituencies becoming one. Communications Manager Alison Mitchell says it has to do with population and Flin Flon was the electoral division with the lowest population in the province. She explains the average is around 22 thousand and they were just over 15 thousand so it was clear that some change had to be made in Flin Flon so in terms of combining Flin Flon and The Pas even though The Pas did have close to the average the decision was made to bring those two together.
A hearing will be held in Flin Flon Wednesday morning from 10 to 12 in the Northern Room at the Victoria Inn. Everyone can attend but if you want to make a presentation register at their website www.boundariescommission.mb.ca.
