A lot of appointments have been booked and gifts are being picked up starting today in a Christmas gift program. The program run by the Flin Flon Friendship Center allows parents to give their children a gift at Christmas when circumstances prevent from doing so. The Center’s Program Events Coordinator Jolene Gardiner says donations went well. She says this year they’ve had lots of donations come in from various businesses and also local people around the community are just dropping off a lot of stuff for them. She says its usually a well received program so they’re very happy to keep it going.
She adds people are now picking up gifts starting today and it goes right through to the 22nd and they’ll have it all set up downstairs in the Headstart Program area and everybody’s got appointments so they just stop in an pick up their gifts and wrap them and they’re ready to go home for the tree.
You can still register to pick up a gift by dropping into the Friendship Center this week.
