There is an Increasing Interest in Getting Home Safely.

Operation Red Nose completed its third weekend of getting people and their vehicles home safely in the Flin Flon area.  The Rotary Club’s Committee Chair Ted Hewitt says it was their best weekend so far this year.  He explains Operation Red Nose provided a total of 57 rides which is a big increase over the previous two weekends and they were quite happy about it.  He says they had a total of 14 volunteers from the Women’s Resource Center combined with the Friendship Center on Friday evening and 14 volunteers from the Cottagers and Friends on Saturday evening to provide this service adding next Friday the Steelworkers are providing the volunteers followed on Saturday by the Hudbay staff.

Operation Red Nose operates this coming Friday and Saturday and December 22nd, 23rd, 29th and 31st and Hewitt says they are in desperate need of volunteers for those last four nights.  You can find an application online at www.operationrednose.com or at Scotia Bank.  Fill it out and take it to the RCMP office with two pieces of identification.
