Local News

This is Citizens on Patrol Week in Manitoba.

Crown Services Minister Cliff Cullen congratulates Citizens on Patrol members for their work in partnership with local law enforcement agencies to keep our communities safe.  Flin Flon Citizens on Patrol Chair Sinclair James says the local group has been busy.  He explains the group has been going consistently since 2014 and there’s currently 27 members in the group. In the past year they’ve put in over 900 volunteer hours and 1743 reported kilometers and if you’d like to join as they’re looking for volunteers you can go online to www.citizensonpatrol.mb.ca or contact them at ffcopp@hotmail.com or call 204-271-4881.

In addition to patrolling the community COPP groups display speed reader boards, patrol at school crossing zones, identify impaired drivers and conduct seatbelt and cell phone use surveys.
