The Fire Situation is Improving in Northeast Saskatchewan.

Scott Wasylenchuk with the Provincial Wildfire Center in Prince Albert reported yesterday afternoon progress is being made on wildfires in the Creighton Denare Beach area.  He says the Flo fire which is about 19 kilometers straight north of Creighton is listed at 2765 hectares as of yesterday morning and they have resources on that and they’re actually making some good progress on it.  He adds the Granite fire is about 14 kilometers northeast of Jan Lake and that one is doing quite well too with quite a few crews on that with support from helicopters and air tankers as well and on the Wilkin fire which is 19 kilometers south of Pelican Narrows they’re making good progress as well.

Wasylenchuk adds they have crews, helicopters and air tankers on these fires, they had some scattered showers through the area and crews are making really good progress.
