A Couple of Bylaws are Still on the Drawing Board.

At their meeting Tuesday night Flin Flon City Council reported they are reviewing the bylaw that requires residents to be responsible for the boulevards in front of their homes. Mayor Cal Huntley notes it may require stiffer penalties as they are still getting complaints about overgrown boulevards. And Council is  reviewing the results of a survey of Chamber of Commerce members before introducing their smoking bylaw at a Council meeting.  The proposed bylaw states smoking is prohibited on the street, sidewalk or road allowance located on or adjoining Flin Flon’s Main Street and within 15 feet of the front doorway of any commercial establishment which employs more than two employees at any one time.

Councilor Bill Hanson congratulated the President of the local Ham Radio group Kevin Rose who has won a trip to Japan through the Ham Radio Association.  He noted the local Ham Radio group is part of the city’s emergency plan.
