It Was a Busy Month for Fires.

Tweedmuir Street fire July 9

At their meeting last night Flin Flon City Council received the Fire Chiefs report for July.  It indicated 16 incidents during the month resulting in 200 thousand dollars in damage.  Mayor Cal Huntley and Councilor Ken Pawlachuk remind residents of the importance of having the required number of smoke detectors in your home as they do save lives.

Council approved requests for funding at the meeting.  They will support the Flin Flon Junior Bombers for the 2017-18 hockey season with 75 hundred dollars, one thousand dollars to the Flin Flon Aboriginal Friendship Center to help cover the costs of National Aboriginal Day held on June 21st and a donation of 570 dollars to Community Futures Greenstone to offset the cost of Community Hall rental for the Infusion Entrepreneurship Conference to be held October 25th.
