The Community Again Responded to a Need.

The totals are in for a car wash fund raiser.  On July 12th Flin Flon Fire Department volunteer fire fighters donated their fire training time to host a car wash fund raiser for the victims of the Tweedsmuir Street apartment fire.  Fire Chief Chad Cooper reports the car wash donations totaled 2123 dollars and the City of Flin Flon donated the fire fighters training pay along with the use of their equipment and supplies bringing the total raised to 3271 dollars.

Cooper says he and the members of the fire department were deeply saddened seeing five residents of Flin Flon lose everything they had in the fire.  He adds he is very proud of how small communities come together to help out those in need.  He went onto thank everyone who came out to the car wash on behalf of members of the fire department as well as Flin Flon City Council for their continued support of the fire department and the fund raiser.

The fire on July 9th completely destroyed the apartment block on Tweedsmuir Street.
