Five Local Area Artists are Part of a Provincial Show.

The 15th annual Manitoba Arts Network’s Rural and Northern Art Show officially opened in Winnipeg Friday.  It features selected works submitted to the Regional Juried Art Shows held across Manitoba each year and is attended by over three thousand people. This years show features 51 artists including Flin Flon artists Elizabeth Fitzsimmons, Karen Clark, Matthew Enns, Lorna Heuchert and Cheryl Tremblay winners at the Northern Juried Art Show held in Flin Flon in May.

The Network states the show provides an opportunity for artists in the north and rural regions of the province to present their work to an urban audience and gives Winnipeg audiences an idea of the scope of work being created outside the perimeter by rural and northern artists.  The show is being held at the Edge Gallery and Urban Arts Center at 611 Main Street in Winnipeg and is open Wednesday to Sunday from 2 to 6 pm and runs until July29th with a public reception and awards presentation this Saturday at 3 o’clock.
