Some of the Best Art Work in the North is in Flin Flon.

Best in Show Boreal Canada 

 

The 41st annual Northern Juried Art Show opened in the Flin Flon Community Hall last night. The show features 175 entries from 77 artists representing 8 communities in the north including 18 youth entries with 33 pieces of art.

             

Best in Show was Greg Tavener from The Pas for his Rustic Barn, Old Barn and Old Church.  The Boreal Canada prize went to Karina Odegaard of Creighton with Northern Lights Over Whitefish Lake.

             

Other local area winner were Karen Clark first in painting and Ron Watt third, Matthew Enns first in watercolor, Cheryl Hordal second and Elizabeth Fitzsimmons third, Matthew Enns third in Drawing and Printmaking, Lorna Heuchert first in Fibre Art and Patty Evans third, Mike Spencer third in Crafts, Cheryl Tremblay first in Mixed Media, Patty Evans second and Brandy Bloxom third and in sculpture Elizabeth Fitzsimmons first, Doug Dmytriw second and Linda Sonnenberg-Jackson third.

             

The show is open in the Community Hall today from 12 to 9 and tomorrow from 10 to 4.
