Fines Have Been Set for Traffic Offences.

At their meeting last night Flin Flon City Council gave final reading to two traffic bylaw amendments.  The first sets the fine preventing the long term storage of vehicles or trailers on city streets over the winter at 100 dollars plus towing costs. Council will continue to work on the bylaw to determine the definition of storage.  The second sets fines for ignoring a barricade, detour or road closed sign at 200 dollars for the first offence, 300 for the second and 500 for the third offence.

In response to complaints received Councilor Bill Hanson reported the snow we had in October filled potholes and cracks in the streets with water which froze causing more damage.  He says crews are working on them and he asks driver to use caution until the work is completed.

Councilor Colleen McKee reported the upcoming Homecoming is putting Flin Flon on the map.  She has received calls from all sorts of locations still looking for tickets.  She says 24 hundred have been sold and there are 100 rush tickets that will be available at registration June 29th.  A schedule of events will be available soon.
