Flinty, Homecoming and Other Plans Were Part of Yesterdays Flin Flon and District Chamber of Commerce Meeting.

The Chamber reports they are waiting for an estimate from a fiber glass expert who can repair and repaint the Flinty statue.  He will have help from the Flinty Committee’s Dave Price and they will apply for assistance from the City once the estimate is received.

The Chamber has a community barbeque in the planning stages for July 2nd during Homecoming to include raffles and geocache coin sales.  They also encourage members to decorate their businesses along the Homecoming theme Home is Where the Heart Is and enter a float in the parade.

The Chamber has circulated petitions to help save STC bus service being cut by the Saskatchewan government.

It was reported Community Futures Greenstone and the Flin Flon Neighborhood Revitalization Corporation have received federal funding to hire summer students. The Corporation will be going ahead with the flowers on Main Street again this year.

The Chamber’s annual radio auction is planned for May 27th and members will be approaching businesses for donations.
