A Second Pink Day is Being Celebrated Tomorrow.

The Canadian Red Cross is recognizing a second Pink Day tomorrow.  They celebrate Pink Day on February 24th and April 12th making use of both national and international bullying prevention days to promote respectful relationships.

At Creighton Community School students and staff will be encouraged to wear pink tomorrow to show their support for Pink Day.  At Hapnot Collegiate students and staff will also be encouraged to wear pink tomorrow and they continue to celebrate Think Pink Fridays every week to raise awareness on bullying, discrimination, homophobia and transphobia.

Ruth Betts Community School will hold a school wide assembly and tell the story on how the Day of Pink started and take the Day of Pink pledge.  Some classes will present poems and songs. The top three students wearing pink will receive a 15 dollar Walmart gift card while the class that best represents the message of Pink Day will receive a pizza party.

The Red Cross says they encourage people to talk about these issues year round as every day can be Pink Day.
