The federal and Manitoba governments have agreed to provide funding requested by the City for a new bus garage.  The governments have announced they will invest more than 6.6 million dollars for 43 projects across the province under the new Public Transit Infrastructure Fund.  The federal government will provide up to 50 percent of the projects eligible costs with the province and municipality covering the rest.

Under the agreement the federal government will provide just over 99 thousand dollars for the city’s new bus garage and the province almost 50 thousand dollars.  City Administrator Mark Kolt says the city will be required to at least match the provincial contribution but the final number is still to be determined.
