The Saskatchewan Government announced in its budget it will shut down the Saskatchewan Transportation Corporation bus service across the province at the end of May. Creighton Mayor Bruce Fidler says it’s a surprise and great disappointment for Creighton and the north as we depend on that service for many different reasons.  He says a lot of them are transportation for not just seniors but for everybody to attend medical appointments, to get out to schooling, a lot of our supplies and things like that come in on the bus or they ship stuff out on the bus and then that’s a large number of people being laid off around the province as well.

Fidler says he has written to STC Minister Joe Hargrave on behalf of New North and will be writing another letter on concerns of the Town as well.
