Callinex Mines has signed an option agreement to acquire a one hundred percent interest in the Big Island Project 10 kilometers east from Hudbay’s processing facilities in Flin Flon.   

Callinex President Max Porterfield says the Big Island Project contains one of the highest grade zinc and gold rich VMS deposits ever discovered within the Flin Flon Mining District.  He says they are looking forward to conduction systematic exploration to discover additional mineralization. He reports between 1987 and 88 Westfield minerals discovered exceptionally high grade zinc and gold rich VMS mineralization over considerable widths including 19.6 meters of 24 percent zinc equivilant. The initial focus will be on identifying extensions to this high grade mineralization adding no follow-up exploration has occurred on the Tara Lake Deposit in this property since the initial discovery and subsequent exploration that was conducted between 1987 and 91.
