The Flin Flon Ski Club had planned for their annual Val and Ivor Hedman Centaloppet to happen Sunday afternoon.  The Club’s Dave Price says Mother Nature made them decide it won’t happen this year.  He says as you know we’ve had very little snow this season so earlier this season they were able to put a track around the valley but then we’ve had melting weather so what’s left of the trail is pretty icy.  He explains they like to offer skiers a quality experience when they’re out there and unfortunately at this stage they’re not able to do that so at their meeting last week they decided that they won’t be having a Centaloppet this year.

Price adds this is only around the fifth cancellation in the 42 years of the Centaloppet and it’s usually been because of the extreme cold.  He says they are looking forward to better conditions next year.
