Local schools will be using today’s national Pink Day to raise awareness with a larger celebration planned for later this year.

At Ruth Betts School they are wearing pink today and teachers will use the day to provide education on Pink Day in the classrooms. At Hapnot Collegiate they will wear pink today.  They also continue to hold Think Pink Fridays every week to raise awareness on bullying, discrimination, homophobia and transphobia.  McIsaac School like Hapnot and Ruth Betts are planning for larger events to recognize the second Pink Day, International Pink Day planned for April 12th.

This is the 6th year that the Canadian Red Cross has promoted Pink Day in Manitoba.
