The Regional Economic Development Officer for our region Perry Trusty explained to the Flin Flon and District Chamber of Commerce yesterday his assessment of this region.  He mentioned what he has found in our communities and what they offer to our many surrounding communities that use Flin Flon, Creighton and Denare Beach for services.  He explained the hospital is a key asset, homecare is a key asset, mining and industry are key assets, education, art, culture, sports and related tourism from these fields is important for commercial success.  He said community assets like the rink, pool, golf course, community performing arts center are important for ongoing success in commerce adding serving this region with public and private services will help sustain this community in the long run.

Trusty added he believes mining will also continue to play a role in our future with Hudbay’s plan looking solid, junior mining companies working in the area and new technology’s ability to find new mines.
