The Food Bank Will Be Available Starting Tomorrow.

The Lord’s Bounty Food Bank was closed following a fire in the upstairs suite in their building earlier this month.  Food Distribution Chair Dennis Hydamaka says they have been offered room in the back of Burkee’s Sports Lounge and Restaurant at 79 Main Street and are moving over today.  He says the health inspector has approved this temporary move and he doesn’t know how long they’ll be there but things are looking good.  He adds on Wednesday they have a half ton and a five ton reefer coming in from Winnipeg Harvest and they will replenish some of the supplies that they need.

Hydamaka says it’s unfortunate they were unable to serve people over the past two weeks but they will be open their regular hours tomorrow from 10 to 1. You enter from the back alley and they will have volunteers there to direct you.  He adds their phone has not been hooked up yet so its walk ins only.
