Constituents Concerns and Possible Leadership Plans are Part of Our Member of Parliaments Summer.

Churchill Keewatinook Aski Member of Parliament Niki Ashton is traveling the constituency over the summer to hear your concerns. She says we have a new government at the federal level and people are quite hopeful about some of the commitments we’ve heard.  She adds she had an opportunity to meet with Mayor Cal Huntley and CAO Mark Kolt and they talked a bit about some of the commitments that have been made to municipalities, the commitments that have been made towards housing for example but obviously what we’re all keen to see is these commitments come to fruition and actually translate into action and to tangible differences whether its in terms of health care, infrastructure and in terms of protecting jobs in our communities.

Ashton adds she is receiving encouragement to run for the leadership of the federal NDP and says she will be considering it over the summer as the vote is not until October 2017.
