There Will Be Regulations for Posting Signs.

At their meeting Tuesday night Flin Flon City Council gave first reading to a bylaw to regulate signs around the city.  This bylaw excludes the commercial signs which are already regulated.  Councilor Ken Pawlachuk says this bylaw refers to signs like those nailed to telephone poles including garage sale signs adding there will be a small permit fee of 20 dollars reduced to 10 dollars if the sign is to be up for less than seven days.  He says this bylaw includes regulations for putting up the signs and will make sure they are taken down.  The bylaw requires two more readings before coming into effect.

Council also received the Fire Chiefs report for June indicating four calls during the month.  Fire Chief Chad Cooper added they are seeing very low numbers for the month so things are going well.

Council also reminds you that Gerry Clark will continue his history tour of the Main Street area with the next one Saturday at 11 starting at the clock on Pioneer Square.  They note the tours have been well attended and are receiving a good reaction from not only visitors but local residents as well.
