Local Area Projects Will Benefit From Government Grants.

The Community Places Program is marking 30 years of supporting recreational and cultural facilities with nearly 3.6 million dollars in grants.  The program provides funding and planning assistance to build, upgrade, expand or acquire facilities focused on culture, recreation and wellness.

In this area the Flin Flon Ski Club receives 8 thousand dollars for phase two of their lighted ski trail upgrade, the Cranberry Portage Museum 98 hundred dollars to refurbish their platform and additions to accommodate accessibility and the Snow Lake Mining Museum 25 hundred dollars for interior LED lighting and exterior signage improvements.

Successful Community Places grant recipients must also contribute to the project costs often through local fund raising efforts, grants from other sources or donated labor and material.
