The annual provincial mine rescue competition was held at the T-3 Mine in Thompson over the weekend.

The winning team in the competition for a second year was the Vale Team from Thompson with the Hudbay team from Flin Flon a close runner up.  The Technicians competition was won by Dave Green from Hudbay Flin Flon.  The Vale Team now qualifies for the Western Regional Competition being held in Fernie, British Columbia in 2017.

The Flin Flon team in the provincial competition was made up of Captain Trevor Thurston, Vice-Captain Tracy Knutson, Damien Dominey, Travis Pfoh, Mike Desjarlais, Dave Green, Director of Operations Eric Durussel and Coach Trainers Olaf Hettrick and Marshal Manns. Other teams competing were from Hudbay Snow Lake and Tanco from Lac Du Bonnet.
