The Flin Flon and District Chamber of Commerce heard from the two candidates in the City Council byelection at their meeting yesterday. Colleen Arnold told the Chamber there are issues we need to continue to look at including seniors housing as we are an aging community and we need to ensure housing is available for seniors, homelessness is becoming a bigger issue every year, infrastructure as roads need to be fixed and the sewer pipes and drains need upgrading, recreation where we need to ensure sports and recreation are available for families, especially for newcomers, to promote service and tourism more so that we’re not relying on Hudbay which Council is already working looking at and we need to work together with Creighton and Denare Beach as we’re all one community.
Arnold adds Council needs to share ideas and partner with different groups and businesses in the community, continue to support arts and culture and see that all members of the community have an equal voice and are being heard and represented.
