The School Board is Ready for Another Year.

 

 

The Flin Flon School Board held their first regular meeting of the new school year last night.  With a welcome back to staff and students the Board presented Gayle Yungwirth with a bouquet of flowers thanking her for her service of 18 years with the Division. Yungwirth has retired.

            

  In his report Superintendent Blaine Veitch announced that most of the work at Queen’s Park being done this year should be finished by mid-month.  This included the installation of multi-use courts, landscaping and student parking.  Ecole McIsaac School will benefit from funding from the Minister of Children and Youth Opportunities offering an after school arts enrichment program.  The Flin Flon Arts Council has received funds to support a guitar lesson program with George Trevor and Doug McGregor.  As well plans for the new year continue as new student orientation with Hapnot Student Council and the Sources of Strength Committee will take place Thursday at the school between 11 and 1:30. Regular classes for students begin Sepetember 9th at 8:45 for Hapnot and 9 am for Ruth Betts and McIsaac.
